Almost Home Dog Rescue NC’s story began with volunteering at the local county animal shelter. We simply couldn’t turn away from the animals who needed us most. Providing the dogs with love, exercise and enrichment made an incredible difference in their lives and resulted in the dogs building deep connections and being better behaved when potential adopters came to visit. What happened next you might ask? More adoptions! Hey, this formula just might work. What to do next? Market like heck and think of ways to help even more and truly make a difference.
Working with area shelters we identify dogs that may need extra training, enrichment and exercise not readily available in the stressful shelter environment. These dogs are temperament tested and rescued to the Almost Home environment where they can relax knowing they are loved, get plenty of exercise and basic training to be the best dogs they can be. We strive to make a true love connection between people and pooch, doing everything we can to change lives and ensure happily ever afters.
